The House late this afternoon voted 366 to 34, 1 present to clear a funding package that averts a government shutdown. 170 Republicans voted for it along with 196 Democrats. 34 Republicans voted no, with no Democrat voting no. One Democrat voted present. The measure needed 2/3 majority to pass.
Details: The plan extends funding through March 14. It includes a one-year extension of the 2018 Farm Bill, and allocates $110 billion for disaster aid ($21 billion ag disaster and $10 billion farmer aid). Notably, it excludes a debt limit measure supported by President-elect Donald Trump.
The Senate is expected to vote on the CR on Saturday.
