USDA held its annual Ag Outlook Forum this week at which it released its initial balance sheet projections for the 2023-24 marketing year. USDA also highlighted key issues facing agriculture, including trade, the war in Ukraine and the dollar, among other items. Argentina’s production estimates continue to decline after crops took another hit from the recent frost event. On the economic front, minutes from the latest monetary policy meeting were more hawkish than traders anticipated, suggesting the Fed will raise rates higher and longer than previously expected.
