Soybean basis firmed despite an increase in cash price.

CORN COMMENTS

The national average corn basis dropped 3 1/2 cents to 24 3/4 cents below December futures. The national average cash corn price firmed 13 3/4 cents to $4.07 3/4.

Basis is weaker than the three-year average of 13 1/2 cents below futures.

SOYBEAN COMMENTS

The national average soybean basis firmed 3 cents to 26 3/4 cents below November futures. The national average cash price firmed 5 3/4 cents to $10.29 1/4.

Basis is weaker than the three-year average of 14 cents below futures.

WHEAT COMMENTS

The national average soft red winter (SRW) wheat basis firmed 13 3/4 cents to 75 1/4 below December futures. The average cash price firmed 39 3/4 cents to $5.40. SRW basis is much weaker than the three-year average of 52 1/4 cents under futures.

The national average hard red winter (HRW) wheat basis slipped 1/4 cent to 56 1/4 cents below December futures. The average cash price firmed 38 cents to $5.63. HRW basis is weaker than the three-year average of 45 1/4 cents under futures.

CATTLE COMMENTS

Cash cattle trade averaged $186.15 last week, up $2.14 from the previous week. Cash cattle are expected to trade around steady this week. Last year, the cash price was $182.72.

Choice boxed beef firmed $1.64 over the past week to $299.81. Last year at this time, Choice boxed beef prices were $296.76.

HOG COMMENTS

The average lean hog carcass price firmed 15 cents over the past week to $82.57. Last year’s lean carcass price on this date was $80.24.

The pork cutout value firmed 92 cents over the past week to $95.02. Last year at this time, the cutout price stood at $94.64.
