CORN COMMENTS

The national average corn basis dropped 2 1/4 cents to 27 cents below December futures. The national average cash corn price firmed 13 3/4 cents to $3.94.

Basis is weaker than the three-year average of 19 1/2 cents below futures.

SOYBEAN COMMENTS

The national average soybean basis dropped 4 cents to 30 3/4 cents below November futures. The national average cash price dropped 39 3/4 cents to $9.89 1/2.

Basis is weaker than the three-year average of 21 cents below futures.

WHEAT COMMENTS

The national average soft red winter (SRW) wheat basis held at 75 1/4 below December futures. The average cash price fell 16 1/4 cents to $5.23 3/4. SRW basis is much weaker than the three-year average of 50 3/4 cents under futures.

The national average hard red winter (HRW) wheat basis firmed 3 1/2 cent to 52 3/4 cents below December futures. The average cash price dropped 7 cents to $5.56. HRW basis is weaker than the three-year average of 45 cents under futures.

CATTLE COMMENTS

Cash cattle trade averaged $186.89 last week, up 74 cents from the previous week. This week’s cash cattle trade remains uncertain, with cash negotiations at a standstill and active trade expected until Friday. Last year, the cash price was $184.30.

Choice boxed beef firmed $8.37 over the past week to $308.18. Last year at this time, Choice boxed beef prices were $300.28.

HOG COMMENTS

The average lean hog carcass price slipped a penny over the past week to $82.56. Last year’s lean carcass price on this date was $78.52.

The pork cutout value firmed 53 cents over the past week to $95.55. Last year at this time, the cutout price stood at $92.39.
