Corn, soybean drought footprint almost gone

As of May 28, the Drought Monitor showed 26% of the U.S. was covered by abnormal dryness/drought, down one percentage point from the previous week. USDA estimated drought covered 5% of corn production areas and 3% for soybeans, down five points and four points, respectively, from last week.

Across the Corn Belt, dryness/drought covered 20% of North Dakota, 8% of South Dakota, 20% of Nebraska, 66% of Kansas, 11% of Minnesota, 24% of Iowa, 6% of Missouri, 10% of Wisconsin and none of Illinois, Indiana or Ohio.
